On August 17 2018, Social Security  again sent out a notice and informational brochure to SSI beneficiaries (and their representative payees) between the ages of 14 and 17.

The brochure, What You Need To Know About Your Supplemental Security Income (SSI) When You Turn 18, is available in Spanish and English.

•             English:  https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-11005.pdf

•             Spanish:  https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/ES-05-10915.pdf

The purpose is to provide information about SSI work incentives that primarily affect youth (such as the Student Earned Income Exclusion and Section 301 benefit continuation ). The brochure will also include information about common programs and services the family and youth may find helpful (such as vocational rehabilitation and the Department of Education’s Parent Centers).
