BOR (Board of Review)

Manufacturing supervisory employee was fired for insubordination after refusing to issue a reprimand to a line worker for an improper inspection. The claimant refused to do it because he did not believe the worker was at fault. R/E and BOR ruled claimant disqualified, reasoning that since the warning would not have resulted in the other worker's discharge and he would have had a right to grieve it, the claimant was not justified in refusing to follow the instruction. This is an unfavorable decision. BR-78408 Advocate: Peter Benjamin, WMLS
