SNAP replacement benefits for households who lost power due to Henri

SNAP households who lost food due to a power outage that lasted at least 4 hours can request replacement SNAP benefits from DTA. Households need to report the food loss to DTA within 10 days of the loss.

Households can write a self-declaration, they do not have to fill out the DTA form! Learn more on MLRI's webpage on household misfortune SNAP here.

Up to 400,000 MA workers face loss of unemployment benefits after Labor Day - action items & fliers!

An estimated 300,000 400,000 MA workers are scheduled to lose all of their Unemployment benefits after Labor Day due to the sunsetting of federal pandemic related unemployment programs (PUA, PEUC, FPUC, and MEUC).

MLRI is extremely concerned about this cliff. We have encouraged the Baker Administration to robustly inform those losing unemployment benefits about other federal benefits they may be eligible for - namely SNAP and TAFDC cash assistance for families with children. See the attached letter from MLRI, the 4 MA Food Banks, and Project Bread.
