OLGT 2023-09: Cross Program: Revised Procedures for Battered Noncitizens

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued updated guidance on who is eligible to file self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

While these updated practices do not change who is eligible for DTA benefits as a battered noncitizen, additional guidance is being provided to assist staff in determining eligibility for TAFDC, EAEDC, and SNAP.
