Today's (8/29) White House Conference Listening Session for Persons with Lived Expertise - new Zoom registration link:

Please see the WH communication below and share this new link directly with community members with lived experience, asking them to register/re-register if possible.  We learned Friday afternoon that there were some capacity issues with the old zoom.  Below is the new invite to send out to the people with lived experience:

Due to capacity constraints, the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health Lived Experience Listening Session on Monday, August 29th at 5:30pm ET has been moved to a new Zoom. Please re-register using this new link:  https://pitc.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJIsfuuvrj0sGyBQatv7-bLHvK4_pVb5aLc.

And just as a reminder:

This session is NOT intended for community advocates, policy wonks or researchers who do not have personal lived expertise). Due to limited capacity, the convenors ask that: "Only those with lived expertise register for and attend this event. For the purpose of this listening session, we are defining the term “lived expertise” as: the experiences of individuals who know: (a) the realities of poverty and related health disparities by living them daily; (b) how these experiences impact health and wellness; (c) the challenges of navigating public benefits programs; and (d) that their perspectives uniquely qualify them as informed stakeholders in the efforts to design equitable policies and programs."

DTA's Summer Updates on the Common App/SNAP Gap, HIP, RMP, SMD, SNAP, Online purchasing, TAFDC clothing allowance and more:

Yes, a veritable alphabet soup of updates on the attached DTA Summer Advisory Board Update sent to the local DTA Advisory Board members.  (Interested in joining a DTA Advisory Board?  Check out general info here.)

A LOT has been achieved over the past few months and we are grateful to DTA for putting all these updates in this robust summary.  Stay tuned for additional updates on changes to the SNAP standard medical deduction (SMD) verification process, the Common App and more!
