HIP benefits to increase July 1st; Immigrant Rights Translated Materials; ABAWD training 6/17
We’re writing to share some good news on HIP benefits increasing to $40/household effective July 1st! (see DTA’s announcement below). Separately, included in this eblast are resources for assisting immigrant communities facing potential ICE raids and a reminder re an upcoming ABAWD (3 month time limit) training on June 17th.
Translated Immigration Know Your Rights (KYR) Materials
In response to the ongoing attacks on our immigrant neighbors both in their communities, at work and even outside immigration courts, our MassLegalHelp.org team (thanks to funding from the Boston Bar Foundation) has translated a number of KYR materials/FAQs into multiple languages:

Register for MLRI ABAWD Training: Tuesday, June 17 @ 2 PM
The first group of MA residents harmed by the 3 month time limit will be terminated starting August 1. Here is MLRI’s ABAWD Guide for Community Organizations. Please register for MLRI’s training to learn more about how to protect vulnerable adults from termination. Note this training will cover good reasons for not meeting the rules and other topics that build on MLRI’s April training. Click here to register for Tuesday, June 17 from 2-3 PM. We will do a third ABAWD training focused on terminations and getting back on SNAP on Tuesday, July 15 from 2-3 PM.
