Health Announce -- Medicaid Defense Action TODAY

Three Weeks to Save Medicaid National Field Stratefy Call. Monday, May 5, 2025, at 2pm.

Join national advocates for a Mega Field Call today at 2 pm to strategize about defending Medicaid from drastic and damaging cuts planned by the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress.

Today’s call is a chance to connect with advocates from across the country and discuss effective advocacy strategies, as well as share tools and resources. Additionally, Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin will speak on the urgency of this moment. Register here.

This week, House Republicans from the Energy and Commerce Committee (which has jurisdiction over Medicaid and Medicare) will release a mark-up of the federal budget reconciliation bill. This mark-up will spell out their specific policy proposals to achieve $880 billion in savings through drastic cuts to Medicaid that will restrict people's access to needed health care. Republicans have set a short timeline to push their agenda through Congress -- effectively giving advocates only about three weeks to Defend Medicaid.
