1. Tomorrow’s Health Care Working Group meeting.

The Health Care Working Group (HCWG) meets tomorrow, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. Our primary agenda item is to talk about the House’s reconciliation bill, H.R. 1, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” As discussed in MLRI’s statement on Friday, the provisions in this bill, if passed by the Senate and signed by the President, would cut off health care and food assistance for families across the state, with particularly cruel policies aimed at some of our most vulnerable members of our community, immigrants and trans children and adults. We will spend some time discussing the provisions of the bill, including potential ways to spread awareness of the harms, as well as MassHealth updates and any issues people are seeing.

Join us tomorrow! (Zoom link here.)

2. Medicaid Defense Actions.

  • Today, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 4:30 pm, join a Big Tent Call, hosted by Families USA to hear the latest from the Hill and strategies to defend Medicaid as the battle moves to the Senate. Register here.
  • More phone bank opportunities this week, courtesy of SEIU’s and Health Care For All’s Save Medicaid Campaign: Wednesday, May 28th and Thursday, May 29th from 5pm. Register here.
