Health-Law-Announcements
Free Test Kits
The federal website for ordering free COVID test kits announced that it is suspending ordering on Friday. Orders submitted through Sept 1 will still be honored. https://www.covid.gov/tests
Ordering through this program will be suspended on Friday, September 2 because Congress hasn’t provided additional funding to replenish the nation’s stockpile of tests.

Free test kits are still available for people eligible for MassHealth or the Health Safety Net and from private insurance (but private insurance companies may require you to initially pay for the test kits and then seek reimbursement). Free test kits designed for people who are blind or low vision are still available online until supplies run out,  here or by calling 800-232-0233

CBPP Beyond the Basics Webinar series begins Sept 8
Our friends at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities are offering a series of webinars in the lead up to open enrollment with the first one Sept 8. You can find out more information & sign up here These trainings are designed for a national audience, and some information about how healthcare.gov works will not be accurate descriptions of how mahealthconnector.org works or the unique features of ConnectorCare.  But if you keep that in mind, this series provides an excellent overview of eligibility through the Marketplace (here in MA that's the Health Connector) for premium tax credits to lower the cost of insurance for people who don't qualify for MassHealth or Medicare or other affordable options.
