SNAP Coalition meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 10-11:30

- Federal updates from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and MLRI
- What we do - and don't - know about how a government shutdown could impact SNAP, WIC and other federal nutrition programs
- Harmful Republican Megabill (OBBB) action steps:
- Governor’s Anti-Hunger Task Force - making recommendations
- Join Feeding Our Neighbors Coalition to pursue state SNAP for lawfully present immigrants barred under federal law
- Talk to the Governor’s office and legislators about the urgent need to invest in DTA (see MLRI overview here)
- USDA’s recent decision to end its national study measuring hunger (see FRAC press release here)
- State legislative and state budget updates and actions:
- State budget process

Urge Congress to Repeal Cuts to SNAP - new sign-on deadline Tues. Sept 30
In partnership with the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) and Center for Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), we urge MA community organizations to sign onto THIS LETTER urging Members of Congress to cosponsor the upcoming Restoring Food Security for American Families and Farmers Act of 2025. This bill would repeal the damaging SNAP cuts enacted in the recent harmful Republican megabill. The sign on deadline was extended until tomorrow, Sept. 30th - please sign on if you haven't already!
