Care Plus Jan 1

Health-Law-Announcements
MassHealth has sent out notices to people now enrolled in Basic and Essential as  well as some people now in Comm. Care or the Health Safety Net about their coverage changing to MassHealth CarePlus on Jan. 1.

People with disabilities or other special health care needs can choose to enroll in MH Standard instead of CarePlus.  Standard will enable those who need them to get certain benefits not available in CarePlus such as PCA services. Standard will also still have a PCC Plan option with the Partnership. CarePlus is provided only through Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). About 50,000 people in Basic & Essential are now in the PCCP & those with special health care needs may want to avoid a change in access to their providers if they switch to an MCO.

Attached is a copy of the notice going to CarePlus members including information on how to call Customer Service and ask for the option to switch to Standard based on special heath care needs.

Please assist your patients & clients who need the benefits & choices available in Standard to make the switch.

And Best Wishes for the New Year.
