The student is a six year old boy with PDD-NOS (on the autism spectrum) who has trouble with language pragmatics, social skills and some aggressive behaviors. He started kindergarten with an IEP; then the school told parents he had met all of his goals and was no longer eligible for services. Parents disputed the school's finding. Student remained without services for a year until parents could obtain representation and independent evaluations. The HO determined that the student was eligible for an IEP and that some compensatory services were required.
