BOR (Board of Review)

Carpenter left work early because job had hit a bottleneck and thereafter did not report back for more work.  Employer assumed he had quit, sent him "final pay."  Claimant was surprised, asked for job back, but employer had no more work at that time.  Based on the particular course of dealing between these parties, in which sometimes employer would take the initiative to contact the claimant after a few days' absence, BOR finds that claimant did not voluntarily quit.  BR-99108 Advocate: Janis Broderick, WMLS Keywords: Misunderstanding
