Claimant didn't apply for extended benefits until 24th week -- despite receiving notice of the 15-wk deadline -- because career center told her she did not need further training and she believed them. Claimant was an RN who could no longer do direct care and who needed computer skills to qualify for a supervisory job. Although this set of events did not fall within the four specific reasons listed in regulation 9.06(4) for tolling the time limit, BOR finds that since claimant took reasonable steps to comply with the time limit and was prevented from doing so by DET and by misinformation furnished by its agent (the career center), time limit should be tolled per 430 CMR 9.07(3).(Monica Halas, GBLS)
