2011 Emergency Assistance Advocacy Guide

A Guide to Emergency Shelter and Rehousing Services for Homeless Families with Children in Massachusetts

By Ruth Bourquin, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, October 2011 Edition

As described by MCLE:

Using a simple question-and-answer format, this Guide leads advocates and homeless families through the rules governing eligibility for Emergency Assistance--the program that provides emergency shelter and rehousing services to homeless families with children in Massachusetts. The Guide provides contact information for the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), to which authority for the program was transferred on July 1, 2009, as well as special advocacy reminders to help families access these critical safety net services.

A bound copy of this Guide is available for purchase from MCLE ($9.95).  You can also download a PDF of the complete Guide from the masslegalservices website for free.
