Dear Colleagues,

In collaboration, the Department of Agricultural Resources and the Department of Transitional Assistance will host an event to showcase the Massachusetts’ Mobile Markets on Wednesday, May 28th at 2:00 in Worcester, also kicking-off the statewide 2014 Farmers’ Market Tours. See the attached invitation.

The purpose of the mobile market event is to present the five Mobile Market models across the state; to highlight the kinds of healthy food choices people can make at mobile markets in providing access to fresh, affordable, local fruits and vegetables; to raise awareness and promote mobile markets as viable points of access for SNAP and WIC clients to utilize their benefits (also Senior and WIC FM coupons, “matching” programs); and to promote local farmers and agri-business that provide fresh, affordable, locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Note, we will send the Farmers’ Market tour schedule once it is finalized— the first tour is scheduled for June, in Plymouth.

Please feel free to forward on to your networks, and apologies for any cross-postings.

Hope you can join us.

With best regards,

Frank
