Urgent Coverage Alert for Dually Eligible MassHealth Members –July 19, 2021

 

Over the fourth of July weekend, MassHealth ended COVID continuous coverage protections for elderly & disabled individuals who are dually eligible for MassHealth and Medicare and who --

1. are no longer eligible for their current MassHealth coverage, 

2. are eligible for Medicare Savings Programs also known as the Senior Buy-In and Buy-in or as the QMB, SLMB and QI programs, and 

Thanks again for a robust turnout at Tuesday’s SNAP Coalition - 104 attendees!  There will be NO Coalition meeting on July 27th.  The next SNAP Coalition meeting will beTuesday, August 10th.  That will be the FINAL Coalition meeting until September, in recognition of vacations and the need for some breaks from Zoomland!

 

SNAP Mythbusting 101 webinar and NEW SNAP Checkbox!  

Hello all, a couple announcements. First, a request for testimony to support legislation expanding access to MassHealth coverage for immigrant children and young adults (Cover All Kids bills). Second, information about MassHealth's public listening sessions about its 1115 waiver renewal proposal.

    Our next SNAP Coalition meeting is next Tuesday 7/13 from 10 to 11:30. The first hour of the Coalition will be a special “SNAP Mythbusting” webinar/presentation from the Shah Family Foundation and three of the top SNAP Outreach partners in the state!

      We hope you are finding ways to stay cool during this wild heatwave (officially a heatwave at 3 days!)  Here are some cooling locations around Boston if you need it. 

      Dan Tsai who has been Asst. Sec of MassHealth & Medicaid Director for the last 6 years is leaving to become Director of Medicaid & CHIP services with the Biden Administration.
