Subject: Utilities Discount letter mailed in error to DTA clients by Columbia Gas
Dear SNAP Outreach Providers,
It has come to our attention that approximately 15,000 clients were mailed a notice from Columbia Gas of Massachusetts, advising them that they may be losing their utilities discount because they are no longer DTA clients. The vast majority of clients who received this notice, are active and will continue to get the discounted rate. As a result of this error, there may be an influx of clients contacting you.
Columbia Gas has added an announcement on their IVR system. An email is being sent today informing the 7379 customers for whom they have an email address on file them that the letter was sent in error. Additionally they will be mailing a hard copy letter to all 15,000 impacted clients and are in the process of updating a message for their website.
A notice will be displayed on DTAâs home page within the hour notifying clients of the error. Additionally an automated call with go out to clients as well.
Attached a copy of the letter that was mailed to Columbia Gas customers for your reference.
