Sequestration cuts are getting deep and personal.
At Tuesday's Coalition meeting, we honored Roxanne after finding out about her sudden unemployment.(ABCD has laid off close to two dozen staff so far due to the federal cuts). This is Roxanne's last week of work at ABCD. She has been an incredible anti-poverty advocate and tremendous resource to the Coalition. We hope that one of you out there has the perfect job for her and can scoop her up. And we hope you will do all you can to fight for revenues to reverse the horrible Sequestration cuts.
THANK YOU ROXANNE for all you do! Hang in there. We honor you, we will do our best to bring you back to the fold soon.

Subject: Sad News: I must leave ABCD
To my dear friends in the legal services world,
It’s with a sad heart that I am letting you know that I will be wrapping up work at ABCD this week. The federal Sequestration funding cuts have forced ABCD to make some hard decisions and it has decided to devote its reduced resources to direct service delivery. I have learnt from you all how to advocate for broad, systemic change to make this Commonwealth a better place for all of its residents. And I am going to continue doing that in some way, some how, especially around justice for the poor and anti-racism work.
In a couple of days, my ABCD e-mail address will be shut off. My new, personal e-mail which I would welcome hearing from you through, is . Next week, I’ll turn my fuller attention to my resume, my LinkedIn account and start to think about what to do, well, for pay, in the future. I am convinced that has to focus on teaching and advocacy.
