Head Start is a federal program that provides free comprehensive early childhood development services to low-income children.   The Head Start Act was most recently reauthorized and amended in 2007  to improve the program’s ability to promote low-income children’s school readiness by supporting their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in a supportive learning environment where children and their families are provided education, nutrition, social, and other services.

The attached document provides questions and answers about the Head Start and the Early Head Start program.
