These "at-a-glance" SNAP benefits charts gives sample SNAP amounts for households with older adults or persons with disabilities, working families, and those receiving unemployment. We've also included a chart that helps advise older adults and persons with disabilities when claiming medical expenses as a deduction makes a difference. More information on what can be claimed for the medical expense deduction here.

These charts are intended to give advocates a quick "guestimate" on the amount of SNAP benefits typical households might receive.  They are not a substitute for doing the SNAP math in individual cases.

Please note: During the COVID public health emergency, all SNAP households were receiving at least the maximum SNAP grant for their household size. The extra SNAP benefits are sunsetting February of 2023 with the last payment issued to. Massachusetts households on March 2, 2023. These calculation charts are useful to determine the "regular" SNAP - they do not include the supplement. Please see MassLegalServices.org/DTA-COVID-19 to learn more.
