1. Public Charge: Updated messaging and information for immigrant families
As shared on Friday, the revised public charge rule was blocked by the courts on Friday. This is great news! However, we know many immigrant families continue to be concerned about accessing SNAP and other benefits.

We have a couple of important SNAP resources and updates for you on medical expenses, veterans and “SAVE the DATE” events!  And please note the new round of proposed regs to cut SNAP from USDA. Ugh !

Public Charge webinar Oct 16 for MA service providers

On October 16th, MLRI, along with the Mass Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA), Health Care for All (HCFA), and Health Law Advocates (HLA) will be doing a webinar from 3-4 pm. This webinar is intended to give community-based service providers (including healthcare providers, SNAP outreach organizations, food pantries, shelters, housing authorities, etc) a basic overview of the new public charge rule that goes into effect on October 15.
