The following are some helpful links for tracing Massachusetts and Federal Legislative History:

  • Guide to Tracing a Massachusetts Law:  The State Library of Massachusetts has developed this on-line resource guide to tracing the legislative history of Massachusetts laws. It contains many useful links. 
  • Congress.gov -- This website will replaces THOMAS.gov as the government's site for accessing free, fact-based legislative information. The Congress.gov site includes bill status and summary, bill text, House and Senate member profiles, and a number of new features, including effective display on mobile devices.
  • THOMAS -- legislative information from the Library of Congress:  THOMAS is maintained by the Library of Congress. You can search the Congressional Record here, and find extensive information about bills and legislation from current and prior legislative sessions.
