We are passing along this information from the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights regarding new funding for discounted broadband service for low income people next year and the advantages of signing up for the current Emergency BroadBand (EBB) benefit before the end of this year.

Dear Colleagues:

 

We hope you are gearing up for a relaxing Thanksgiving break with family and friends. We are writing to share important resources for the Massachusetts families you work with, and resources to help you continue to raise awareness of food insecurity. 

1.     USCIS issues updated guidance 11/16 on public charge 

We hope you are planning to get some well-deserved time over the Thanksgiving break. Per tradition, there is NO SNAP Coalition meeting on Tuesday, November 23rd  (nor the last week of December). 

The next formal SNAP Coalition meeting is Tuesday, December 7th from 10 to 11:30 AM. It will be a chock-filled exciting meeting!

1.     Getting In-Person EBT Cards at Local DTA Offices – EBT Card Fliers 

We'll be combining our November and December Health Care Working Group meetings, so that our next and last HCWG meeting of the year will be Wednesday, December 8 from 3-4:30pm. Please save the date.

2. Personnel changes at MassHealth

3. Updated guidelines on gender-affirming care

4. Immigrant health

 

Open Enrollment 2022:

This is a special eblast to give you an update on SNAP households impacted by 10/26 and 10/27 Nor-easter and SNAP replacement benefits. DTA now has street lists from National Grid and EverSource Lists by municipality that will be used to confirm/verify the household's outage.

 
A number of updates below on EBT cards, replacement SNAP, the Child Tax Credit deadline next week, and new DTA SNAP videos!

ACTION:  Contact your MOC to End the ABAWD SNAP Time Limit Rule & Defend the Build Back Better Act!
