CMS (the Federal Medicaid Agency) has approved MassHealth's request to stop doing Provisional Income Eligibility for adults.  The 2-page approval letter is attached, the related changes to the waiver documents are posted here:

Exciting news!! 

As of TODAY (Monday, 12/18) DTA has made some massive changes to the way they ask for verifications (proofs). Requests for proofs- verifications - are one of the biggest access barriers for our clients who are applying for or trying to keep SNAP or cash benefits. We think the set of changes that DTA has made have the potential to positively impact every client who comes in contact with DTA. Attached is a brief overview of some of the changes.

THREE things you can do this week:

1) Call or email to Congressman Richard Neal to bolster him to fight like heck over the GOP tax reform bill. Congressman Neal is on the Conference Committee, tasked to reconcile differences.

2) Reach out to family and friends in other states to urge them to weigh in with their Members of Congress.  AND

Yes, the SNAP 3 month time limit is both spreading to new areas of the state, but some ABAWDs who lost SNAP may be able to get back on for 3 months.  Its a bit confusing, but you can help your clients access benefits and DTA SNAP ET services too!  Both trainings are 10 to 11:30 AM.  A flier about the training is attached.
