Just want to flag for you some powerful news stories from the Springfield Union, Worcester Telegram, FRAC and a college student blog. Please amplify through twitter, Facebook etc. 

The LAST Boston SNAP Coalition meeting is tomorrow, Nov 28th Tuesday, from 10 to Noon at St Francis House 39 Boylston Street, 6th floor).  Updates on what's happening nationally and in the state are on the agenda. See you there !

 
 
Our next Boston SNAP Coalition meeting is Tuesday, November 28th, 10 - Noon at St Francis House in Boston.  
 
The AGENDA will include the following:
  • Federal update: tax reform proposal (see below) and potential impact on funding federal programs, Farm Bill update

1. Advance notice of new MassHealth managed care options starting March 1, 2018.

The fact that Massachusetts is blessed with a WONDERFUL Congressional Delegation does not give us a free pass to sit on our laurels.  Below are two news articles that FRAC recently flagged in their SNAP news alerts (including quotes from our MA-based Children's HealthWatch) and some important resources materials to help you..

We have developed some important SNAP resources for older adults for you to circulate to your community based organizations to help improve access to SNAP for older adults.

DTA just sent on an alert shipped to field offices earlier today. Apparently very few SNAP households have made any requests so far.  ATTACHED is the list of 263 cities and towns where National Grid confirmed that residents lost power for 4+ hours due to the Hurricane.  (We also converted this Excel list to a Word document if easier to open).
