We've got some updates on the House Budget, upcoming bill hearing and a LOVELY article by AARP Massachusetts.

The Eos Foundation has just released a FANTASTIC School Breakfast Scorecard for Massachusetts, with the help of Children's HealthWatch and Department of Early and Secondary Education. The report includes detailed information in key high poverty districts. Hats off to Eos, CHW and DESE!

The next Boston SNAP Coalition is Tuesday, April 25th from 10 to Noon in Boston, St Francis House.

Increased federal immigration enforcement has raised concerns among health care providers about how to ensure that immigrant patients continue to have access to health care services without fear of negative immigration consequences.

Representatives Livingstone and Khan filed Amendment #31 to close the SNAP Gap. In addition to Reps Livingstone and Khan, we have 46 co-sponsors! Reps have til 5 PM today to sign on.  Let's try for 10 more before 5 PM today!!

Here's MLRI's analysis of selected sections of the House Ways and Means FY18 Budget released at noon yesterday.  /content/house-ways-and-means-fy-18-budget-proposal-mlris-preliminary-analysis-selected-issues  Our analysis covers appropriations and budget language that funds cash assistance, SNAP administration, child care, health care, housing and homelessness, DCF services and Legal Services.

DTA and the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) have a special "Heat and Eat" Fuel Assistance program, or H-EAT. This program has helped thousands of elderly and disabled households qualify for higher SNAP benefits. We are writing to share some updates with the DTA Heat and Eat process.
