SAO not available this afternoon! + webinar recordings on medical expenses & public charge

This email includes a quick update on the Senior Assistance Office for today, along with resources on SNAP and medical expenses and the public charge issue. 
 
DTA's Senior Assistance Office not available today (11/14/19) from Noon to close- voicemail available
 

DTA's Holyoke office is moving from the 2nd floor of their current location to the 1st floor - the office will be closed today starting at 12 PM and remain closed tomorrow (Friday). It will be open as usual on Monday, 11/18. The Senior Assistance Office (SAO) serving SNAP households who are 60+ by phone will also be closed only for today starting at noon. Community groups and clients can call the regular DTA Assistance Line in the meantime (877-382-2363) or leave a voicemail on the SAO number  to get a call back. The MA Protecting Immigrant Families team - MLRI, MIRA, Health Care For All, and Health Law Advocates - presented a webinar for service providers and others in the community regarding public charge, and litigation information and talking points for working with immigrant families. 5 federal courts have blocked implementation of the public charge rule while the litigation continues. Click here to watch the webinar, or go here for more information: Miracoalition.org/pif
