Upcoming Public Charge Public Forums

Forums for Concerned Immigrants

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) is hosting two public forums on the public charge rule changes. MLRI and MIRA Coalition experts will share information and resources. These forums are geared at immigrants and to share accurate information with immigrant communities, but community advocates are also welcome to attend.

There will be two forums:

1) Mon, Sept. 30 from 6-8 PM at the Malden Senior Center, 7 Washington St, Malden, MA
2) Thurs, Oct 10 from 6-8 PM at the ABCD Mattapan Family Service Center, 535 River Street, Mattapan, MA

Please see attached fliers for more information.

Two important public charge reminders:

1) MLRI, the 4 Food Banks, and Project Bread have fliers posted here on SNAP and public charge in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese.
2) A number of public charge lawsuits have been filed. The implementation date of the public charge rules is currently October 15. However, it may be stopped or delayed due to the lawsuits. Stay tuned!

Public Charge Training for Attorneys

There is also a training for attorneys on public charge on October 2 from 12-1:30. Click here if you are an attorney and would like to learn more and register.
