Opportunity to meet with USDA Undersecretary Thornton in Boston - July 19th

We have received an invitation for the Mass Food SNAP Coalition to meet with USDA Undersecretary Dr. Janey Thornton on Tuesday, July 19th. The Undersecretary is in Boston on the 19th and very interested in meeting with members of the Massachusetts Food SNAP Coalition. We have scheduled a meeting from 11 AM to 12:15 PM.

This specially scheduled meeting is an great opportunity for Coalition members to meet an important high level USDA official, hear about federal initiatives in the major anti-hunger programs and share information on initiatives in Massachusetts. Discussion topics will include the status of federal funding for SNAP, WIC, TEFAP (emergency food), NLSP (school meals) and implementation of recent changes in the these programs. This is also a key opportunity for Coalition members to share thoughts and concerns about hunger issues in Massachusetts. This special Food SNAP Coalition meeting will start promptly at 11AM and last until 12:15 PM. The meeting location will be confirmed this week, but the meeting time is confirmed for July 19th, 11 - 12:15 in Boston.
