OLGT 2023-21: EAEDC: Extension and Redesignation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the extension and re-designation of Haiti for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months. This extension and re-designation will be in effect from February 4, 2023 through August 3, 2024.

Individuals who are approved or have pending status for TPS are considered Permanently Residing Under Color of Law (PRUCOL) for purposes of EAEDC eligibility, and accordingly, may be eligible for EAEDC provided they meet all other EAEDC nonfinancial and financial requirements.

Important: Individuals who are approved or pending for TPS are not eligible for SNAP or TAFDC benefits, unless they qualify under a different noncitizen status, i.e., Refugee.
