DTA is sending out a mailing and texts/emails to clients in March to inform them of tax credits and child care assistance. The mailing is scheduled to begin March 7, 2022 and the text/emails will begin on March 8, 2022.

This year’s annual state and federal Massachusetts Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) and child care mailing has been significantly updated and expanded. The tax information has been simplified and includes the federal Child Tax Credit (CTC). Importantly, it tells clients that they need to file taxes this year to get the rest of their advance CTC payments. Further, the notice and brochure link to the FindYourFunds website, a mobile friendly, multilingual website created by our community partners, in addition to state and federal resources.

The Massachusetts Earned Income Credit is 30 percent of the federal credit for the 2021 tax year. Clients have access to free tax assistance sites located at: https://irs.treasury.gov/freetaxprepClients also have access to regularly updated information on the Federal Child Tax Credit, EITC, and stimulus money at: https://www.findyourfunds.org/dta.
