The State Verification Eligibility System is an inquiry-only Social Security Administration (SSA) batch system that stores Social Security information including Social Security payments, claim account numbers, Medicare, disability status, death date, birth date, and SSN information.
Case managers make SVES inquiries when they create overnight requests. Certain SVES inquiries are run automatically.
SSA calculates a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for RSDI and SSI benefits each year between November and January. Automated inquiries do not run during this period and access to the Mainframe screens is limited.
