A new law limits arrest and prosecution of students for minor misbehavior. Arresting child-aged students for disturbing the school peace is now banned. School/police department memoranda of understanding must require police to stay out of school rule enforcement and focus on serious crimes. Click on Go to Website for more details.
If your school has not revised its memo of understanding; if the rights of your child or someone you know have been violated; or if you’d like more information, contact Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee (Hillary Nikema; Matt Cregor; Chidera Onyeoziri; Phil Kassel) at 617-519-0980 or email email@example.com.
