MLRI's Basic Public Benefits Advocacy Training Series - Kicks off on September 12th (Tuesday) - Family Homelessness/EA Shelter

MLRI's annual Basic Public Benefits Advocacy Training Series 

This includes 11 trainings between September 2017 and April 218. The series covers advocacy for homeless families and working families; the basics of state and federal income maintenance programs including TAFDC, SSI/Social Security, Unemployment, Veterans benefit; MassHealth coverage; helping clients with their CORIs; immigrant access to benefits; and elder benefits law.  Thanks to the support of Mass Continuing Legal Education (MCLE), the trainings are offered in a beautiful downtown venue with coffee and snacks and all materials provided  - just $25 per person (for community orgs, social services, legal services).

  • The first training is next Tuesday, September 12th  - focused on "Assisting Families Experiencing Homelessness to Access and Retain Emergency Assistance & Benefits." 

  • The SNAP/Food Stamp 101 training on January 25th, 2018.
