House Deadline for C-Sponsorship moved to Feb 4th

UPDATE: Due to the weather, the House of Representatives has moved back the deadline for co-sponsorship of bills until Wednesday February 4at 5:00pm.  Please consider contacting your rep. to co-sponsor these important bills.

Please contact your state Representative and Senator to ask that they sign-on as co-sponsors to the following bills.
 

1. HD 1023, SD 1349 Lead sponsors Representative Balser and Senator Jehlen: "An Act to Preserve Affordable Health Care for Massachusetts Residents". which maintains current affordability (Commonwealth Care-like) protections in the ConnectorCare Program.  See attached fact sheet.
 
2. HD 2589, SD 557 Lead sponsors Representative Malia and Senator DiDomenico: "An Act Improving the Children's Medical Security Plan" which removes hard caps on essential services, such as a $200 cap on annual prescription drugs for low income, non_Medicaid eligible Children,  (i.e. mostly undocumented kids). 3. HD 2709, SD 1601, Lead Sponsors Representative Cronin and Senator L'Italien. "An Act to Retain Health Coverage for Low Income Children"  a state maintenance of effort bill to protect MassHealth CHIP kids in the event that Congress doesn't reauthorize funding for the CHIP program.  See attached fact sheet.
 
4. HD 2844, SD 1720, Lead Sponsors Representative Livingstone, and Senator Montigny "An Act relative to the well being of children in the commonwealth"  The omnibus Health Housing and Hunger (triple H) protection bill for children.  See attached fact sheet.
 
The deadline for House Co-sponsorship has been moved up, due to the storm, until February 2nd.  Under Senate newly adopted Senate rules,  there is no hard and fast deadline for Senate co-sponsorship, but the sooner that Senators sign on the better.  Members should contact the lead sponsors of the bill they wish to co-sponsor to sign on.
