Field Ops Memo 2009-06: TAFDC and EAEDC-- Nurse Practitioner Added to the Definition of Competent Medical Authorities

Date:
02/02/2009
Author:
DTA
Nurse practitioners are now considered "competent medical authorities" for TAFDC and EAEDC. Note that DTA already allows a "licensed medical practitioner" (including a nurse practitioner) to certify disabilty so an elder noncitzen can qualify for food stamps/SNAP without regard to the five-year bar. See FO 2008-28.
