|Hello CHAC Members!
Thank you for your fast advocacy in support of our Children's Medical Security Plan legislation. I received many emails from people who contacted their state reps and who forwarded the alert far and wide.
In the wee hours of Friday morning, the House finished its last formal session of the year. Unfortunately, our legislation was one of the literally hundreds of bills that they didn't have time to take up before adjourning.
But we still have hope! Bills can continue to be considered during so-called informal sessions, although there are additional procedural challenges. The CMSP legislation is absolutely something that could be taken up and passed by the House.
To make that happen, we still need your help. Call your State Representative now, and ask him/her to support SB 2320, An Act Improving the Children's Medical Security Plan, by speaking with House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Brian Dempsey about it.
To find out how to contact your State Rep, click here.
Here's what you should tell your Rep:
- Current benefit caps in CMSP mean that kids can't get the coverage they need.
- SB 2320 eliminates hard caps on specific services that are insufficient to keep kids healthy.
- SB 2320 will not increase costs to the program - it is required to stay within the legislative appropriation.

Thank you so much for your advocacy and hard work on this bill. Please forward this alert to your networks.
We have a chance!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or would like more information.
