Action alert: Tues 11/12 webinar to protect SNAP for 200,000 MA households
Submitted by FoodSNAP on 11/08/2019 - 12:11pm.
We are following up on a major threat to SNAP for Massachusetts households. Just as the holiday season is approaching and heating costs are going up, the Trump Administration is proposing a $50/month SNAP cut to older adults, persons with disabilities, and working families.
USDA is trying to change the federal laws around how utility costs factor into the SNAP math. These changes would cut SNAP for 200,000 households across the state - to the tune of $100 million per year in MA! This is an even bigger cut in MA than the 2 other SNAP proposed rules from the Trump Administration this year.
We need your help! The best way to help is to file a comment opposing the rule change by December 2.
