MCLE is pleased to bring you its 6th Annual Legal Services Conference 2018, which draws together the Massachusetts legal services community. Legal aid and pro bono advocates throughout the state convene to discuss the impact of legal aid and the various avenues legal aid can take to make a difference. This year’s Conference focuses on the overlap and intersection between legal services and criminal justice. We serve the same clients, so how can we work together to help them more?

Throughout the day, experts engage in dialogue around a number of pressing issues, with a focus on how these play out practically in your legal aid cases. Learn about the trauma of poverty and how it impacts your clients’ daily lives. Find out what is going on with criminal justice reform in Massachusetts and how it will change your practice.

Hear from Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society in New York City, Seymour W. James, Jr. Attorney James has led the nation’s oldest and largest not-for-profit legal service agency since 2014 after a 40-year legal career that included being the Attorney-in-Charge of the Criminal Practice. Attorney James has a deep understanding of how legal service and criminal justice professionals can work together to serve clients.

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to connect with your colleagues, celebrate your successes, learn from your existing challenges, and ultimately leave better equipped to assist your next client.
