We are writing to give you some critical updates on public charge, current data on the number of Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) cards that remain unpinned, and the school districts that might be able to elect universal free school meal status (Community Eligibility Provision or CEP).

We'd like to remind all SNAP Coalition members, and especially local food pantries where families may be showing up for emergency food, about the SNAP "misfortune" replacement policy.  Over 220,000 Massachusetts residents lost power the evening of August 4th, and for many parts of the state, the outages continued throughout August 5th and the following days as utility companies worked to get power back on.

Final push for #BoostSNAPnow in Congress:

Please keep up the drum beat with calls to both Congress and Governor Baker to secure a SNAP boost in the next COVID-19 package.  Conversations are going on “behind closed doors” – which kinda hints they might be close to some agreements.

We need your help TODAY.  The U.S. Senate released a COVID-19 package totally unacceptable to address the needs of states and localities, including NO funding to boost SNAP.

Call MA Delegation today:  See FRAC alert BELOW. Please call, tweet and email your member of Congress today to #BoostSNAPnow. Please also send a LTE to your local media outlet and get vocal on social media!

SNAP and interruption to FPUC - what to tell households
Tomorrow, Saturday 7/25, is the last date - for now, at least - that unemployment benefit recipients will get the $600 boost to their weekly unemployment (either regular UI or PUA). This weekly boost is called FPUC.
