Reminder, we have our regular 4th Tuesday SNAP Coalition meeting tomorrow, March 23rd, from 10 to 11:30 AM.  

The Agenda will include updates on P-EBT for 0-5 year olds, the 15% boost in P-EBT for kids in eligible hybrid or remote learning models, brief updates on federal and state anti-hunger legislation and more!  Here is the Zoom Link:

Greetings SNAP Coalition members.  

Lots of info below as we head into the weekend. We are all reflecting this week on the challenges and losses of the past 12 months. It has been a year of extreme difficulties, sadness, frustration, and economic strife for so many. We are deeply appreciative of your work and we have hope for the year ahead - We are especially hopeful today because the American Rescue Plan was JUST signed by President Biden!!!
 
We have very positive news to share this morning!! Please also see information below about an upcoming training on immigrants and benefits - this is a very important time to make sure all eligible households get the benefits they are eligible for! 
 
The Trump-era Public Charge Regulations are NO LONGER in Effect!!!
 
 
SNAP Coalition - tomorrow, Tuesday 3/9 from 10-11:30 AM 
 

Our NEXT SNAP Coalition meeting is Tuesday, March 9th at 10 AM.  The meeting will include a presentation by DTA’s SNAP Employment and Training team, to share some of the increasingly important resources available to SNAP households – all voluntary services – looking to get skills to get back in the workforce. We will also have brief updates on the American Rescue Plan, P-EBT for younger kids, and other breaking news.

 

P-EBT:  Advocacy strategies to help maximize use of P-EBT

In follow up to Tuesday's SNAP Coalition meeting, this eblast includes the 2021 state Legislative priorities for Coalition members, introduces MLRI’s new Race Equity and Justice attorney Virginia Benzan, and DTA’s recently updated HIP Finding Tool.  Also flagging the March 3rd Basic Benefits Training on Income maximization for Working Poor households.
