SNAP Coalition Meeting – Tuesday, October 26th

Good morning - Important updates below. In general, please let us know what the households you work with are experiencing when applying for SNAP or interacting with DTA! Our next Coalition meeting is next Tuesday, 10/26 from 10-11:30. Agenda to come!

Addressing college campus hunger is on the move!  We have a couple of important updates for you from the State House and from the MA Dept of Higher Education.

Thanks to our friends at Project Bread, here's an action alert on two important anti-hunger bills being heard in two Committees tomorrow:
    A few updates below. Our next Coalition meeting will be next Tuesday, October 12 from 10-11:30 - Zoom link below. As a "second Tuesday" meeting, we will have two guests to share information and answer questions:
     

    Starting October 1, SNAP households will see an increase in their monthly benefits due to USDA’s revision of the Thrifty Food Plan (TFP), and at the same time, the 15% SNAP boost will expire. USDA has also updated some of the income deductions in the SNAP math through a "cost of living adjustment" (COLA), also effective Oct 1st.
