The latest information on SNAP/ Food Stamp advocacy in Massachusetts.

Thanks to our friends at Project Bread, here's an action alert on two important anti-hunger bills being heard in two Committees tomorrow:
    A few updates below. Our next Coalition meeting will be next Tuesday, October 12 from 10-11:30 - Zoom link below. As a "second Tuesday" meeting, we will have two guests to share information and answer questions:
     

    Starting October 1, SNAP households will see an increase in their monthly benefits due to USDA’s revision of the Thrifty Food Plan (TFP), and at the same time, the 15% SNAP boost will expire. USDA has also updated some of the income deductions in the SNAP math through a "cost of living adjustment" (COLA), also effective Oct 1st.  

     

     

    Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday, September 28th from 10-11:30 for the regular SNAP Coalition meeting. We will have a robust agenda, including updates from DTA on the increased SNAP benefits (beginning October 1!) and other updates.

    Thanks to all of you able to attend the special SNAP Coalition meeting on Tuesday the 14th to welcome USDA’s FNS Deputy Regional Director Lizbeth Silbermann and her team.  

    The next SNAP Coalition meeting is Tuesday, September 28th from 10-11:30  AM.  Among other agenda items, DTA will share robust updates including on the October 1 increase to SNAP (and materials on that increase to come from MLRI!)
