MassHealth on massive hunt to verify eligibility

State has to check up on 1.2 million people. Locate 1.2 million people. Find even the thousands of them who don'€™t speak English or don't have a place to live. Get them to fill out a 26-page application. Process those forms. And get it done by the end of the year.

MassHealth Restructured To Improve Care, Rein In Costs

BOSTON The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) today announced changes to the MassHealth organization that will restructure the program and support the move toward a more patient-centered and accountable system of health care.

A March 2015 revision to the paper application for MassHealth & Connector coverage is out.  Attached is our review of the changes: many improvements, some old problems remain, some new problems created.
Attached are flyers in English and Spanish about the Renewal Events in Boston on April 15th and Chelsea on April 24th.  Your assistance in referring appropriate MassHealth recipients to these events is appreciated.
MassHealth & Connector staff will be available in downtown Boston to provide in person assistance to people who need to reapply to renew their MassHealth coverage. See the attached flyer.
When: April 15, 2015 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: 600 Washington St. Boston, MA 02111
MassHealth revised and updated its Desk Chart for income calculations by rounding up to the next whole dollar. This caused us to revise once again our MLRI MassHealth Income Chart.  Please excuse the confusion. On March 20, 2015 the Health Connector began sending out delayed denial notices to a group of 34,000 immigrants who it says are not eligible immigrants.

Some of the immigrants getting these notices are legal immigrants who should not be denied.

Attached is an alert for affected immigrants including information about how to get legal assistance. Please help GBLS and MLRI to identify legal immigrants incorrectly denied benefits by distributing this form and letting any of your patients or clients know how to contact us.

Alert to legal aid offices and social service providers about MassHealth terminations and the availability of MassHealth Renewal Extensions:

It is not too late for renewing MassHealth members who receive termination notices to reapply and reinstate their coverage back to the date it ended, and you can help
