Public Charge
Multiple federal courts have blocked the Trump administration’s final public charge regulations from going into effect on October 15, 2019!
This means most non-citizens can continue using the nutrition, health and housing benefits for which they are eligible without fear of public charge.

Public Charge webinar Oct 16 for MA service providers
On October 16th, MLRI, along with the Mass Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA), Health Care for All (HCFA), and Health Law Advocates (HLA) will be doing a webinar from 3-4 pm. This webinar is intended to give community-based service providers (including healthcare providers, SNAP outreach organizations, food pantries, shelters, housing authorities, etc) a basic overview of the new public charge rule that goes into effect on October 15.
