SNAP Updates: SNAP Interview Calls; Residents of Substance Abuse Facilities, SNAP 101 trainings Nov 2nd and Dec 9th

SNAP Interview Calls:

We have been seeing cases where clients do not receive an interview call  from DTA at the scheduled interview time. The client then receives a "notice of missed interview." 

First, please let us know if you have any clients who do not get an interview call on the date/time in the interview appointment letter.

Corrected Health Income Chart for Open Enrollment

Attached please find a new income chart for use in ConnectorCare and Qualified Health Plans for Open Enrollment which begins November 1st, for effective coverage beginning in January 2017.  These new numbers are based on the 2016 Federal Poverty level and are used for benefits for the year, beginning in January, with enrollment opening on November 1st. Open Enrollment runs from November 1st through January 31st.

Thanks to another well-attended and chock-full-of-info SNAP Coalition meeting in Boston yesterday!  We are writing with a couple of important updates and will follow up with additional info tomorrow.

SNAP Coalition meeting AGENDA for 10/25/16; Upcoming Trainings on UI, Income Max for Working Families, SSI/SSDI and Title VI/Language Access

This is brief reminder that the October Boston SNAP Coalition meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25th from 10 to Noon at St Francis House.

The SNAP Coalition AGENDA will include:

  • Anti-Hunger policy priorities for next federal Administration - brief discussion with Coalition members

  • 2017 State Legislative/Budget Priorities including the SNAP Gap Campaign for 2017; MA Food Trust, MEFAP, School Meals and other priorities (please share what you will be working on)

Upcoming SNAP trainings on 10/17 and 11/2: Basic Benefits Training on Unemployment Insurance; SNAP flier for UI Households

SNAP 101 Trainings with MLRI and Greater Boston Food Bank - 10/17 and 11/2

This is a quick reminder of upcoming SNAP 101 trainings (all are free):

  • Monday, October 17th in Framingham from 9:30 to Noon.

  • Wednesday, November 2nd in Falmouth from 1:30 - 4 PM.

  • There will be a training in Beverly, likely in early December but the date is TBA.
