The latest health law updates for advocates and social service providers in Massachusetts.
The Governor released his budget yesterday --this is the first step in the process that will lead to the budget for FY 2020 starting July 1, 2019.
The 2019 Federal Poverty Levels have been released by HHS but publication in the federal register has apparently been delayed by the shut down. For comparison, 100% FPL for one person will go from $12,140 to $12,490 when the new income levels take effect.
MassHealth will implement the 2019 poverty levels March 1 & MLRI will update our Table of MassHealth Upper Income Limits at that time too.
Federal HHS is funded through Sept 2019 which means health advocates have not had to worry about the effect of the federal government partial shut-down on MassHealth and most other health programs. But your patients and members may be seeing the effects of the shut down on other federal benefits --such as early issuance of their February SNAP benefits.
