The latest health law updates for advocates and social service providers in Massachusetts.

On March 20, 2015 the Health Connector began sending out delayed denial notices to a group of 34,000 immigrants who it says are not eligible immigrants.

Some of the immigrants getting these notices are legal immigrants who should not be denied.

Attached is an alert for affected immigrants including information about how to get legal assistance. Please help GBLS and MLRI to identify legal immigrants incorrectly denied benefits by distributing this form and letting any of your patients or clients know how to contact us.

March 25, 2015 alert from Families USA

In his proposed budget for FY 16, the Governor is anticipating that MassHealth average annual enrollment will drop by 200,000 people between FY 2015 & FY 2016 due to redeterminations/renewals.

MassHealth suspended annual renewals for most people under age 65 from Oct. 2013 to Feb. 2015. MassHealth resumed annual renewals in February 2015. This year and next approximately 1.2 million people must complete a reapplication in order to have their eligibility redetermined under new rules that count households and income in a new way.
