NCLA is a full-service poverty law firm receiving federal Legal Services Corporation funding and Massachusetts Bar Foundation funding. NCLA provides free high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Southeastern Massachusetts. Our main office is located in downtown New Bedford, Massachusetts, with a satellite office located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Through its centralized intake system, operated jointly with South Coastal Counties Legal Services, NCLA is the initial point of access for most applicants in need of legal services throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. NCLA provides advice and brief services through its hotline; direct representation by staff attorneys; and pro se services and referrals through its PAI/pro bono programs for thousands of individuals every year.

Intake Notes:

NCLA operates an intake hotline. Applications for legal services are accepted by telephone and intake assistance includes information and pro se advice.

Please Note: We recommend not using mobile phones to call NCLA's intake line whenever possible due to the potential of high call volumes that may require being on hold that could use up minutes from your mobile phone plan.
