The Center for Law and Education (CLE) is a national advocacy organization committed to assisting low-income students, parents, and advocates improve their public schools and work with their communities to fulfill every student's right to high-quality education. CLE helps advocates and their clients implement key education programs (e.g., Title I, special education, vocational education) and state education reform initiatives through internal school capacity-building and outside advocacy, including litigation. In MA, CLE provides statewide support to legal services programs and pro bono counsel representing low-income students and their parents in education law related matters.
CLE also provides direct legal assistance to low-income students who are being excluded from public school through disciplinary exclusion or as a result of an ineffective/inadequate education through its Pro Bono Education Law Project, a partnership of CLE, Choate Hall and Stewart and the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice at Harvard Law School.
Intake Notes:CLE's Pro Bono Education Law Project provides direct legal assistance to low-income students throughout the state who are being excluded from public school through disciplinary exclusion or as a result of an ineffective/inadequate education. Intake: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm.
